Your Kindle is set to feel a little more magical starting today.

Wizards and Muggles alike are now able to legally purchase and own the Harry Potter series in eBook form with the series apparating onto several online stores today including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Google and Sony. (Apple’s iBooks store is notably absent)

JK Rowling famously withheld eBook rights to her beloved Potter franchise for years, declaring that the eBook experience just couldn’t compare to the Dead Treeware (paper) books. When she announced her new PotterMore site last year however, she had changed her tune and declared eBook versions would be coming shortly. Sounds to me like these are the result of her casting spell to make money appear. Accio greenbacks!

So hit up your favorite eBook store today (unless that store belongs to Apple) and get your witchcraft on.

I wonder how many folks will take pity on Mrs. Rowling and trade in their illegal eBooks for genuine paid copies? I’ve gotta think there won’t be many, unless the interactive features of PotterMore factor into it somehow.
