Bioshock Infinite release pushed back from October to February 2013

In news that is sure to disappoint fans of the Bioshock series, Irrational Games has pushed it’s latest installment back until February 26, 2013.  To quote Creative Director Ken Levine:

“When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing. Since then, we’ve uncovered opportunities to make Infinite into something even more extraordinary.  Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need to deliver the best Infinite possible, we’ve decided to move the game’s release to February.”

Levine further notes that the the game will be going dark from here on out, and will not be shown at E3 or Gamescom.  To me, it doesn’t sound like everything is rosy over in Irrational land, but I could be wrong.  Does this clear your calendar for October, or open up a spot for another game to fill?
