Do you smell what The Rock is cooking? Does it smell like a John Carpenter remake? You’re right!

The Wrap broke news that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will star in a remake/reboot of John Carpenter cult classic Big Trouble in Little China.

The original – released in 1986 – starred Kurt Russell as truck driver Jack Burton, who winds up in the middle of some titular Big Trouble in Little China. As with most Carpenter films, this one went on to become a B-movie cult classic.
Johnson, who will also produce, is joined by writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz of Thor and X-Men First Class fame, respectively. No word of a director yet, so its probably gonna be a long while before we actually see this.
