Episode 235: Catfish

Are you sure that person you’ve been talking to online is who they say they are? Beware of catfish in this week’s episode.

Before we go any farther, would you consider leaving us a review on our iTunes page? All you have to do is click this sentence, and review away!

No, seriously, go leave us a review on iTunes. It helps people find the show!

On this week’s show the Geeks are sort of fish out of water, and it’s one of the most interesting shows we’ve done in a while.

What exactly is a catfish and what does it even mean? Where does the reference even come from? I mean, is it literally a catfish or someone pretending to be someone they aren’t? Yeah, it’s that one.

Catfish, catfishing, and being jerks online got ramped up when Nev Schulman released his documentary in 2010 about an online relationship he had developed with a girl and her family; you know how this ends.

We talk about catfishing, online dating, and of course, MTV’s Catfish and the documentary in this week’s episode.

CATFISHED! This week’s episode is really about F.R.I.E.N.D.S.! Just kidding, it’s really about catfishing.

Have you ever been catfished? Been the catfisher? We want to hear from you! Join our Facebook group, JUGheads, Inc., and and get in on all of the action.
