Instagram is the new #1 Free App on the iTunes Store

It doesn’t appear that consumers are very worried about Facebook’s recent acquisition of  Instagram after all.

According to the Instagram Twitter account (@instagram), the photography app has finally reached the #1 spot on the Free category on the iTunes App Store.

So whatever the future holds for the Instagram/Facebook mashup is yet to be seen, but it appears that Instagram is continuing to profit from the Facebook deal.
