Looks like Daredevil has some vigilante competition! Evildoers, prepare to be punished!

The ever expanding Marvel Television Universe gained a new member today by announcing the casting of Jon Bernthal as the new Punisher.

Bernthal is probably best known as Shane Walsh from the first two seasons of The Walking Dead, and Marvel’s Head of Television had this to say about the new addition: “Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences. Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”

We know from watching his slow descent into madness on TWD that Bernthal can do mentally unhinged really well, so this sounds like good news for Marvel’s TV Universe.
