A British online video game retailer, ShopTo, has listed the Wii U and it’s launch titles for pre-order… and you may have some sticker shock after seeing the price.

They have the games listed at £39.99, which roughly translates to $62 dollars.

The Wii U console, however, is listed at £279.99, or a whopping $435 US.

Though these prices are surely guesswork on their part, of they turn out to hold true then Nintendo may be in for a rough Christmas.

Do you think this price sounds likely? Does it make you more or less likely to pick up a Wii U at launch? Sound off in the comments!

We’ll get one. I know we will. But this is stupidity.
Nintendo should be focusing on people with young kids, über casual gamers, stuff like that. People who will shell out just enough that they don’t have to freak out when the two year old chews on a controller.
That will not be the case with a $450+ system. It excludes kid-friendly play, kind of.
If a kid grows up cutting teeth on Nintendo, he will have at least a bit of that loyalty for life.
