Apple Inc. released a press statement today concerning their upcoming fiscal Q3 2012 Earnings Call and it included this little nugget…

“We’re thrilled with record sales of 17 million iPads in the June quarter,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We’ve also just updated the entire MacBook line, will release Mountain Lion tomorrow and will be launching iOS 6 this Fall. We are also really looking forward to the amazing new products we’ve got in the pipeline.”

Mountain Lion will be available exclusively through the Mac App Store and will retail for $19.99. It can be installed on as many Macs as you want as long as they share the same App Store account.

OSX 10.8 will include many new features borrowed from iOS and brought “back to the Mac” including Messages, Notification Center and many more.

As is always good practice, make sure that you make a good backup of your system using either Time Machine or a third party program. I highly recommend the app SuperDuper!

Are you as excited about Mountain Lion as we are?
