Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are rumored to join the cast of The Suicide Squad as the Joker and Harley Quinn!

There have been many legendary onscreen couples over the years: Cleopatra and Caesar, Rhett and Scarlett, Harry and Sally. However, Hollywood has never portrayed the greatest power couple ever until now.

Word has broken of the rumored casting of two members of the DC Comics movie Suicide Squad. Jared Leto might don the makeup and green hair dye for the role of the Joker, while Margot Robbie could wield Harley Quinn’s massive mallet. An official announcement will hopefully be made to confirm the cast very soon.

This is pretty cool news. I haven’t seen anything Jared Leto has done recently, but he’s a solid actor. One of the biggest challenges for him will be comparisons to the tour de force performance that was Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight.

As for the casting of Margot Robbie as the Joker’s girlfriend Harley Quinn, I’ll have to admit I’ve never heard of her before today. She’s blonde, so she’s got that going for her. I guess we’ll have to wait for the movie to come out to see. Hopefully she’s up to the task.
