Supergirl Casting Announced

CBS’s Supergirl has been cast!

If you’ve been sitting around waiting for a casting announcement about CBS’s new Supergirl series, you can stop waiting immediately. Word has come this week that Melissa Benoist has been cast as Supergirl.

Best known from the TV show Glee and the movie Whiplash, Benoist made her film debut in the Mariah Carey film Tennessee.

Benoist will portray Superman’s cousin Kara Zor-El, and CBS has already ordered a whole season of Supergirl, so things look good for the other surviving Kryptonian on the small screen.

Are you guys psyched for another addition to the DC Television Universe? Think we’ll see Supergirl sing? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
