Fantastic news for all fellow fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender and it’s sequel The Legend of Korra!
After averaging 3.8 million viewers in its first 12 episode season, and after having already received a second season order order for an additional 14 episodes, word comes from EW that Nickelodeon has ordered an additional 26 episodes of Korra, presumably to be split up into seasons 3 and 4.
The Legend of Korra, set 70 years after Avatar Aang defeated the Fire Nation and restored balance to the world at the end of Avatar: The Last Airbender, follows the adventures of Aang’s successor to the Avatar role, a teenage girl named Korra.
The stellar first season with Korra mastering her fourth element, Air, and becoming a fully fledged Avatar. We only got to see Aang achieve that at the end of his series, so it will be even more interesting following Korra’s adventures now.
