You know that “Mario vs Godzilla” mashup video you want to do on YouTube, but you’re afraid that Nintendo will come after you? Go ahead! You’ll be just fine!
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced that the company will participate in a video mashup event in Japan, and that they will allow people to use Nintendo characters for whatever purpose they desire.
This is huge for them, as Nintendo has kept a pretty tight grip on their main characters over the years. Whether this news means we’ll see cross-platform games starring these characters in the future remains to be seen.
So go ahead, let’s see that “Link I’m the Lord of the Rings” video mashup you’ve been sitting on forever. What Nintendo characters would you guys like to see on other platforms?
