Ask Microsoft what sour grapes sound like. I’m guessing something like “Whah Whaaah”

Mary-Jo Foley over at ZDNet says she has seen an internal Microsoft email telling its employees that they will no longer be allowed to purchase any Apple products with their expense accounts.

This new policy is certainly understandable given that Microsoft has their own smartphone platform in Windows Phone 7 and will be soon releasing iPad-competing tablets running their new Windows 8 operating system, and the big M will be looking to gain as much user adoption of those devices as they can. Even if the only people using them are Microsoft employees.

Something tells me Apple employees don’t have to worry about receiving a similar email forbidding them from purchasing Windows PCs any time soon.
