PlayStation 3 becomes first console to stream Amazon Video on Demand

Amazon.com has some good news for PS3 owners when you go to their website today.  Amazon Prime members can now stream Amazon’s vast Video-On-Demand library through their console directly, beating competitors Xbox 360 and the Wii to the punch.

Amazon Prime is a $79 a year service offering Unlimited free 2-day shipping and $2.99 1-day shipping upgrades.  In an effort to compete with Netflix and offer up content for their Kindle Fire device, Amazon began including free video streaming with Prime membership last year.  Over the past several months they have continuously announced new content deals with various media outlets, tripling their selections within the past year.

I’m currently enjoying a free Student Prime account, which unfortunately does not include the free video streaming.  If you try it out please drop us a comment and let us know how you like it.
