Entertainment Weekly has posted the first preview trailer for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series that will be airing on Nickelodeon.
EW recently spoke with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles executive producer Ciro Neili, who explained how this iteration of the characters fits into the Turtles universe. “I tried to boil it down and get to really what’s at the core of it,” Neili says, “which is this sense of brothers and camaraderie. Everything grew out of that. It’s like a band. You want a Beatles thing.”
It looks like they are trying to capture the more goofy, light-hearted vibe of the 80’s TMNT series rather than the darker theme of the mid-2000’s series.
Unfortunately, EW doesn’t allow video embeds so you’ll have to go to their website to view the video.
The trailer will be shown on Nickelodeon this weekend during the season finale of the superb new series The Legend of Korra. Except a season review on Korra next week.
i don’t know how i feel about that. i hate CGI animation because we aren’t yet at a level where anything but a movie team makes it look right and even then its a coin toss. I DO NOT think CGI should be used for TV animation. unless there is some cell shading, as in family guy and futurama, etc, we hav not reached a level where it looks really good. movement is too jerky and unnatural for me to watch. i refuse to watch anything done in all CGI. older stuff such as reboot and Transformers beastwars was cool but fast forward and i don’t think the animation has improved that much. so that means i haven’t stomached any G.I.Joe or Transformers done in all CGI.
but this almost looks watchable…….
